As an interior designer based in Sacramento, CA, I've had the pleasure of working with countless clients to transform their homes into beautiful, functional spaces. One of my most memorable limestone projects was for a beach house in the Sacramento area. We used a light, sand-colored limestone throughout the main living areas, which perfectly captured the breezy, coastal feel the client was going for. Slate

Slate is a dense, durable stone that's perfect for high-traffic areas like entryways and mudrooms. In one of my favorite slate projects, we used a multi-colored slate tile in a herringbone pattern for a client's entryway. I also recommend using a pH-neutral cleaner specifically designed for stone to avoid damaging the surface. Another tip is to choose a grout color that complements your stone tile. For example, if you have a light-colored marble, a pale gray or white grout can help create a seamless, cohesive look. If you have a darker stone like slate, a contrasting grout color can help highlight the unique texture and variation in the tile. Finally, don't be afraid to mix and match different types of Stone Tile Flooring throughout your home. Using the same stone in different finishes or sizes can create a sense of continuity while still adding visual interest. For example, you might use a polished marble in your bathroom and a honed version of the same marble in your kitchen for a cohesive yet varied look.
